Welcome to ASTC’s 38th Annual Conference!

St. Louis, Missouri and ASTC continue to provide educational and social opportunities for its members and all conference attendees. We look forward to seeing you this year!

Think about it – ASTC members have gathered together once a year for 38 years!  The draw is quality educational sessions, meeting up with colleagues, fun events, and most of all, seeing old friends and making new ones. This year’s conference will be no different!

The ASTC mission statement addresses the principle that our legal system permits each party to put forth their best case – making the most of facts, law and presentation skill – which allows for the truth to win out for more often than not. The goals of ASTC lie at the very heart of the law’s ability to deliver justice. The 2019 conference,Transparency in Litigation, includes sessions addressing bias, deception/truth-telling, poor messaging and its impact on the efficacy of the justice system. A session on Black Lives Matter and the Dred Scott Decision brings in local justice issues. Guest speakers include Judge Mark Bennett, Charles Henson JD, and Laure Brimbal PhD. We will have a reception dedicated to networking. Pre-conference sessions include TC 101 and ASTC’s second CLE for area lawyers.

And if the sessions aren’t enough to convince you to come, how about being pampered at an urban oasis for $175 a night. The Four Season’s is divine luxury including a spa, beautiful rooftop pool and hot tub, outdoor dining with an outdoor fire pit, a James Beard Award-winning chef, and impressive kid amenities if you want to bring the family. Our Friday night banquet will be a semi-formal event held in a luxurious ballroom (cocktail dresses or sport coat attire appropriate).  Located downtown on the Mississippi River, it is within walking distance of the famed Gateway Arch (the tallest monument in the US) and the famed old courthouse where the Dred Scott hearing was held. Next door is a casino for those who are feeling lucky.
