2025
Presented by Chris Dominic, Michelle Rey LaRocca, and Paul Valdez
The ASTC is honored to recognize Faye Honig with the Joyce Award for her extraordinary service and commitment to this organization and its members.
Qualities like availability, affability, and ability are often cited as the foundation of success. Faye exemplifies all three, bringing a rare combination of dependability, warmth, and skill that consistently strengthens the ASTC.
Faye is always available. She is the person members reach out to because they know she will respond quickly and take care of whatever needs to be done. Whether coordinating across time zones, supporting Board leadership, or handling the countless details that go on behind the scenes, Faye shows up again and again.
Just as important is how Faye shows up. She brings warmth and genuine care to her interactions, building personal relationships across the ASTC community. She is friends with many members and has spoken one-on-one with most of the organization’s 350+ members. Through those connections, she has also helped many people find opportunities and make professional connections that led to new roles. That welcoming presence has helped many people feel at home in the ASTC and has led numerous potential members to join after their first conversation with Faye.
And then there is Faye’s ability. Over the years, she has played a central role in many of the ASTC’s most important initiatives: launching the Tex-ABOTA collaboration with the American Board of Trial Advocates; delivering multiple annual conferences as Conference Planning Chair; helping build a modern, welcoming website; guiding the transition to a new management company; implementing the “Buddy System” for conferences as Membership Chair; and leading a hands-on membership renewal effort by personally reaching out to hundreds of members.
What ties all of this together is Faye’s deep commitment to this community. She gives her time, her energy, and her attention in ways that make the ASTC stronger and more connected. That approach to service, affectionately now called “the Faye Way,” has set a tone for the organization that will last well beyond any single term or title.
For all of these reasons, the ASTC is proud to present the Joyce Award to Faye Honig.
